Gentleman's Handshake We use this contract for all of our international clients. Since most international artists tour the US for brief periods before going home to their local followings, we feel these kinds of contracts are easier to keep track of than written legal documents. Our experience with international acts has been wonderful! Not only are they eager for our help, but they are courteous, professional and true to their word. Here's a generic version of our "Gentleman's Handshake" agreement: Latin Music Booking promises to try and get THE BAND gigs in various colleges and venues in our area for your SEASON/DATE tour in YEAR, with an agreed fee and a PA system provided as part of the deal. You agree to provide promotional blurbs and CDs to enable Latin Music Booking to do the job properly. You promise to pay Latin Music Booking X% of the fee (paid up front by the venue as a deposit, or collected by you the day of the gig.) That is the limit of your financial obligation. You can not return to those venues unless it is through Latin Music Booking within X months, you promise to do it through Latin Music Booking, or pay my X% commission if the return is within X months from the date of your last active association with Latin Music Booking. You do not pay Latin Music Booking any commission on gigs that you arrange yourselves and you are not obliged to let Latin Music Booking continue acting as your agent after the tour, however if this works out for both of us, we are happy to continue any associations until one or both parties yells "Uncle." Booking Contract There are many different kinds of booking contracts to use between the band, the venue and the booking agent. Many venues don't use contracts. It is always a good idea to get a contract in writing from a venue when you can, that way there are no surprises when you show up to do the gig, and you have some recourse if things don't go as dictated in the contract. Otherwise, you are relying on the word of the venue buyer and in many cases, this can become problematic, especially if the buyer is not an in-house buyer, but another booking agent! Always get a contract if you can. BOOKING CONTRACT THIS CONTRACT, entered into this the DAY, DATE, YEAR by and between Latin Music Booking, whose address is 9901 N.
